Method to use:

Combine half a spoon of lemongrass essential oil with one tablespoon of sweet almond oil or coconut oil. Mix properly and use as body massage oil. Apply on the muscles and massage.

2. Lemongrass essential oil to treat a headache:


It gives a calming effect, soothes the nerves, and gives relief from a headache. It relaxes the forehead and takes away the tension, pressure and pain from your head.

Method to use:

Combine 15 drops of lemongrass essential oil with six drops of clove oil and one tablespoon of jojoba oil. Mix everything properly and store on small bottle and use when you have a headache. After applying and massaging it gives instant relief from head pain.

3. Lemongrass essential oil for healthy skin:


The oil has astringent properties which sterilize, the open pores of the skin, make the skin tight, open pores invisible, and makes your skin tissues healthy. So instead of using cosmetic astringent, you can opt for natural astringent like lemongrass essential oil. It aids as a natural skin cleanser.

Method to use:

Take a few drops of oil on cotton and apply and clean the face and neck. Then wash off your face. You can put few drops of oil on your regular moisturiser and mix and use it will increase the medicinal value.

4. Lemongrass essential oil for healthy hair:


Lemongrass essential oil can treat the dry and flaky scalp; it can strengthen the hair shaft. It protects the hair from wear and tear of daily activity and gives the shine and bounce to your hair.

Method to use:

Combine few drops of lemongrass essential oil with one teaspoon of coconut oil mix properly. Apply on scalp and hair and massage for few minutes. Cover the head with a towel and wash off your hair after one hour with shampoo.


Add few drops of oil to your regular shampoo mix thoroughly and use to wash your hair. Similarly, you can do with conditioner add few drops of oil in your conditioner and mix and use.

5. Lemongrass essential oil to treat fever and colds:


The oil has antibacterial properties which can combat with symptoms of common cold. Lemongrass oil is cooler in temperament and is effective in bringing down the body temperature.

Method to use:

Take a few drops of lemongrass oil in your hands and rub your palms. Now put your palms on your nose and inhale deeply for few minutes.


Take a bowl with a half cup of water and add few drops of oil to it and mix properly. Take a clean light cotton cloth dip in this water, squeeze the excess water and put on forehead and stomach to bring down the temperature in fever.

6. Lemongrass essential oil as bug repellent:


The oil has geraniol and citral that is considered to repel pests like ants, flies and mosquitoes. Bugs are repelled by the smell of lemongrass oil.

Method to use:

Combine 30 drops of lemongrass oil with 20 drops of tea tree oil, half cup of witch hazel and a half cup of apple cider vinegar. Mix everything thoroughly and store in spray bottle. You can use this spray as bug spray.

7. Lemongrass essential oil as a sedative:


The smell of the oil is lemony sweet which instantly calms your nerves and gives relief in nervousness, irritability and stress. It puts you to a beautiful and profound sleep.

Method to use:

Add few drops of oil in your regular body lotion mix and apply on your body and massage gently for few minutes


Add few drops of lemongrass essential oil in warm bath water and take a bath with this water pat dry and go to sleep.


Put four drops of lemongrass essential oil and four drops of lavender oil in your diffuser and let your room fill with its aroma.
